On Wednesday morning, 24th January, we were privileged to attend the She-N-Tech Recognition Awards at the Mulungushi International Conference Center, organized by the National Technology Business Centre. This event was curated to applaud and acknowledge the remarkable achievements of women in technology who have significantly contributed to the industry as tech entrepreneurs, investors, and enablers.
We are delighted to share that our CEO, Chilufya Mutale, emerged as a distinguished recipient of the Achievement Award. The honor was bestowed upon her by Honourable Felix Mutati from the Ministry of Technology and Science, adding a layer of prestige to this well-deserved recognition. Chilufya was invited to give her remarks, in which she mentioned that her proudest moments come from being an enabler—creating an environment where diversity thrives and everyone, regardless of gender, age, or financial status, has access to affordable financial services.
The event was graced by the presence of notable dignitaries, including Her Excellency Ms. Saana Helinan, the Finnish Ambassador to Zambia, Her Excellency Ms. Karolina Stasiak, the European Union Ambassador to Zambia and COMESA, the UNDP resident representative Mr. James Wakiaga, and the Director of the National Technology Business Centre, Dr. Chitundu Kasase. Each of these esteemed guests provided special remarks, underscoring the significance of the achievements celebrated during the awards ceremony.
Honourable Mutati took the opportunity to unveil the official logo for the Zambia Innovation Summit, an eagerly anticipated annual event that will serve as a nexus for established and startup tech companies, enablers, and investors to converge and collaborate. Among the noteworthy attendees were Mr. Choolwe Nalubamba, the Director General at ZICTA, Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Technology and Science, Eugene Mwila, Co-founder at PremierCredit, Simunza S. Muyangana, Director – Entrepreneurship & Co-founder at Bongohive, Mara Michelo, Founder at the Jacaranda Hub, Yaza Kara, the Head Digital Transformation at Stanbic, Dr. Connie Osborne from the Zambia Business Angels Network, Lewam Kafela from Partech, Lelemba Phiri, Founder at ATG Samata, and Sandras Phiri, CEO at Pranary.
